Shut the Front Door

The time had finally come for our front door to get a little TLC.  Look how sad and ugly she had gotten:

What is that dripping down the door?  Ew!

We drove through neighborhoods and scoured the internet for color inspiration.  We must have looked at hundreds.  I must have looked at thousands!  :)

We uploaded a picture to the Valspar website to "paint" a few sample colors and narrowed it down to two:

LaFonda Deep Olive

Jungle Thicket

Jungle Thicket was the clear winner.  But you must think we're crazy because they both look absolutely HORRIBLE on my computer screen right now, but the sample cards looked good - I swear!

Off the hinges she came.  Off came the hardware.  Painting began in the front yard and ended in the garage because it started RAINING.  Yes, raining.  After a few coats of paint, and spray painting the hardware with Rust Oleum, here she is all ready to sparkle for the holidays:

Oh yeah, we swapped out the light fixture too!
